Dude have you ever seen a map?

That airport is in North Gaalkacyo.

The only airport in South Galkacyo is the privately owned Oshaco International.

I know Somalis are not bright enough to refuse to take part in meaningless clan wars, but I wish they were at least smart enough to refuse to take part until the politicians and tribal cheifs who create these conflicts bring their sons to the front lines. They expect the poor and uneducated reer badiye to send their kids to fight and die while their kids are overseas in the most expensive universities. They're so lucky the Somali population is dumb and uneducated.

:yousmart:

That's right.
These politicians make peace over coffee and smile in pictures once the dead have been buried anyway. It's all nonsense.
Fadhi ku dirir and kaftan is fine, but actual bloodshed when there is enough land to go around?

Peace in Somalia's Middle-East. :fittytousand:

@Ridig Rabah
PL cannot expand on Galmudug territory.
The deal is between PL & UAE; if PL are going to expand they will build on their land not Galmudug territory.
Galmudug has its own laws and military to safeguard its territory.

The Airport is NOT in Hawiye territory. If Galmudug wants to send its sons to hell over land that has never and will never belong to them, that's is on them.

Starting a conflict during the worst drought in Somali history, just as Reer Gaalkacyo started to trust each other again? Subhanallah.
History will not be kind to those who start fires that can not be extinguished.

@Ridig Rabah There will be no war, talks between PL & GM are underway.

The airport does not belong to neither Puntland nor Galmudug, it was built by MSB(AUN) and it belongs to the central government & the people of gaalkacyo (both sides).
The only reason PL administers it, is because it is located in N.Galkacyo.

The area around the airport does not belong to PL.
The only way you can expand the airport is by knocking down your own houses and expanding west/northwest into the city.
Galmudug land is not up for grabs. :icon idea:

The problem is exactly this. It does not matter who built the airport, what matters is what side of the green line it is on. Here is an example, the highway that runs through Galkacyo is public property, but no one claims the other side's portion of the road. The airport is on land that belongs to Puntland right? If the answer is yes, then the government of Puntland can do what ever it wants on that land. It would be like people in Galmudug claiming Xerada Siinay because it used to be public property, it makes no sense.

Comparing military bases and an airport is like comparing apples and oranges.

The airport was built using taxes from both sides of the city.
The revenues are split for a reason.

Are you saying that because people from Galmudug have been paying taxes to the airport, they have a claim to the land on which the new airport is being built? What kind of claim do the people of Galmudug have to the airport?

In a 50:50 business partnership, one partner cannot do something without the consent of the other, right?

Garoonka Gaalkacyo waa mid ka dhaxeeya labada dhinac; the tax revenues from the airport are split 50:50 which means cidna gooni uma laha.

It has always been shared and it will continue to be shared; PL has no right to monopolize the resources of the state.
