This is one is a classic.
Riverine people around Jubba river believe that there are men who train crocodiles to snatch and kidnap young women, and bring them back to be held as sex slaves.
The story is always the same. A young woman is sent out for a chore, often to fetch water, only to disappear.
Months or years later, she reemerges, having suddenly regained her memory. She is often alone, but sometimes accompanied by a child of hers.
Her explanation is that a practitioner of dark magic sent a crocodile to kidnap her, but she is unable to remember who the man is or where he lives; only that she speaks very highly of him, almost affectionately. The child, if any, is also his, conceived during her time in captivity. The attacker is typically described as a very attractive and well-spoken man, someone who should never need to resort to using a reptile for a wing-man.
Confronted with this reality, the community would then rally around her, taking the child into their fold, and cleansing both with Quran and prayers, hoping for that gorgeous menacing asshole to never return to take her again.

That's it.
Everyone buys this story.
Nothing about this recurring story is suspicious at all. This can't be a crock of shit, can it?
Apparently before it was shaqo la'aan Nigerians, handsome faraxs with crocodiles were sixirooles getting random xalimos pregnant
@Finesse there's a whole legacy to this, wan dintay.
