This is a dumb ad I came across on Twitter but honestly it should make more people concerned. With the rise of AI it’s now easier than ever to create bot accounts.

If you look at right wing twitter or even zio twitter, it’s a bunch of accounts with thousands of followers and AI generated profile pictures that nonstop all day tweet propaganda. When you sign up for Twitter these are the accounts pushed onto your feed. It’s not like 2016 election where you had to have a human running these bot accounts. All it takes is a simple code.

During the 2024 US presidential election it was found that all Twitter activity was 95% bots all tweeting the same pro Trump stuff. Hence, Elon’s tweet “republicans wouldn’t have been able to win without me.”

Now the internet is how a lot of people (mainly unemployed youth) get socialized. Everyone is becoming more radicalized because of these apps.

Under every viral tweet (and not even viral like tweets with 10k likes) you will see bots. Some comment sections are just bots responding to bots. People will lie & say that there are more people using twitter now but the numbers do not add up. It’s the same on tiktok & instagram, snarkers regularly call out influencers for purchasing bots and screenshot the copy & paste comments these bots make. No social media site is free of this. The internet we grew up on is gone

Super glad the only social media i use is reddit (only some subreddits tho), discord and youtube. Never went on tiktok or twitter. And i don't use fb/instagram except to communicate with family.

Tiktok has way less bot activity probably cause AI isn’t good at videos yet. Only following and comments at most.

The first time I heard about “bots pretending to be real people to create chaos” was during the BLM protests. I thought it was just another conspiracy theory.

But by last year, it became pretty obvious there is serious bot activity in twitter. And tbh it worked. I honestly think it’s the main reasons Democrats got smoked.

It’s only a matter of time before countries( even “democracies” start going full CCP mode with internet censorship. They will also build anti-bot systems and deploy their own bots who are simping for the ruling elites.

I just avoid those lol. Most of reddit has a clear bias. I mostly stick to non controversial subs
