Communism/Socialism

After Siad Barre are there still Communist/Socialist parties in Somalia or Soomaaliweyn in general? Or is it relatively frowned upon.

They would be CIA-ed the morning after forming.

I doubt that. It's like half of Latin America is now in the Venezuela-Cuba camp.

if they were going to overthrow every communist/pro-communist regime, they would have to overthrow like half of the current governments in Latin America

The only country in Latin America that has a socialist system is Cuba. In Venezuela 70% of the economy is in the private sector, meaning their mode of production is capitalism. Venezuela's system is much closer to social democracy, although that is a great step forward from the neoliberal economic policies which only benefitted America and the Venezuelan upper class. And they sure do try to overthrow these governments. The CIA tried to assassinate Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro countless times and they attempted many coups/civil wars in those countries. That method actually worked the majority of the time in other countries like Chile, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay etc. A lot of people don't realize this but Latin America makes the US boatloads of money as it is the center of American cash crop businesses along with the whole war on drugs.

Well it is true that Cuba wasn't able to really export its system one hundred percent. And this may have something to do with the fact that no one actually wants to live under their system.

I'd say Cuba has a much better system than most other Latin American countries. They don't suffer from the same unemployment, cartel crime/terrorism, extreme poverty, racism etc as other countries in the region. They have free healthcare, free university education, some of the best doctors in the world. Most of the problems they have is that the US has blockaded them, they can't trade with most countries. The US themselves have said that their plan with Cuba is to economically destroy the country, foment starvation and poverty in order to turn the population against the government. Watch this video to see more about how Castro vastly improved Cuba.

I knew a Cuban who said good things about their healthcare. Yet he had zero desire to actually live there. Sanctions or no sanctions, no one wants to live in a Communist police state.
