I think in the future when robots are building everything, capitalism will fall apart and communism will be a necessity.

Communism is perfect for a society with abundance, not so good when you have to stand in line for water and toilet paper.

On the flip, Capitalism is perfect for now but not so good when you have no customers buying goods due to the lack of employment.

So communism was way ahead of its time. In the 1850s it was not practical but in the 2050s it maybe a necessity.

I doubt it. Peak Socialism in the West was in the 60s and 70s. Since the 80s it has shifted more and more towards neoliberalism and increased income inequality.

Hunger games society is more likely than communism.

Many countries are already experimenting with free basic income. We all know where that leads

First it's free income
Then governments take control of all banks. Gives people equal amounts of money. Communism is about income equality afterall.
Then cooperations no longer make sense and highly efficient robots are developed by the government to produce stuff in massive quantities. Making things basically free

Don't know what "the government is directly feeding you" ideology is but it's definitely close to full blown communism.

Look at the election patterns in the West, it has been shifting to the right for years. No sign at all of communism arriving.

The right has one last bump before its killed off for good. More minorities than ever will vote in the 2020, 2024 & 2028 elections and minorities tend to be leftist. By 2040-2050 whites are done and so is the right wing. Don't believe the hype

Interesting thesis. Some countries are experimenting with Universal Basic Income. It doesn't pay as much as a salary, so there will always be an income disparity between workers and spongers. In Iceland, or whichever Scandinavian country it was that is conducting trials of UBI, you can work if you want on top of getting UBI.

Not sure it adds up to Communism, especially as such jobs as will remain untouched by AI will still remain hierarchical and not run democratically by workers. There will always be a managerial class. But it's probably close to the kind of schemes conceived of by nineteen century utopian socialists like Edward Bellamy - I think that's what his name was, not sure.

I've come to the same conclusion. Right now, there's already huge inequality and conflict, imagine when robots and AI take most of the menial labour and blue-collar jobs. From Call-centres staff to cashiers at a bank to car manufacturing, everything will soon be performed by circuits and algorithms. At to that, climate-change and global warming causing food/resource shortages. This will make the current economic and migrant crisis look like a walk in the park.
