At work today two of my colleagues both had cold sores.

I have never in my life ever had this. I only see European people have it, was so disgusting to see.

It's just a virus, nothing big.

Don't let adults kiss your children, I contracted it as a child, it must have been an infected adult that kissed me, yes, it's not nice to look at but it happens rarely and disappears quickly.

Just say Alhamdulilah you don't have it.

I generally stay away from people who have a cold, I avoid sitting next to them or shaking their hand. Get better though!

Cold sores are annoying. Had them since I was little kid.

For me, weakened immune system, dehydration + eczema were the biggest reasons why they kept recurring. Ever since I working on them, the cold sores have become less frequent.

Main triggers:
- Weak immune system
- Dehydration
- Food high in arginine and acidic food like nuts, seeds peanuts, rice, chocolate, orange juice etc.
- UV rays in Summer.
- Cold weather

Somalis can have them too....I'm the living proof.
Somalis back home believe that if you don't wash your lips/mouth after eating, spiders pee on you during the night lol

I’m very adamant about not having friends drink from the same straw as me. I don’t care because my health is more important.

@Finesse I also forgot to mention that you can get cold sores and herpes from trying on lipsticks from makeup stores like Sephora. I think there was a case recently were they got sued because a woman got some infection after wearing a tested lip product. Even if they ‘sanitize’ it, it’s still not clean. Never take your chances.
