I will say that the salafiy are different from khawaarij in doctrine parts that they are more correct than the khawaarij in, however their methodology of spreading their ideology are both extreme. These people were at war with the citizens of madina because they entered and destroyed the shrines by force, only reason they didnt demolish the green dome because everyone would have killed then if they did that
