I do believe that the underpinning of all this is that Chunkz has a deeply one-sided love relationship with Maya, which was kind of okay, but that man is married now. I think this stunt was some weird attempt at showing people how close they are.
Not to be too judgmental, as Maya was raised by a single cadaan mother and an absent Somali father who never raised her in our culture or religion. Anyone trying to mock her should have the galls to call out her father a hundred times first.
She is, at the end of the day, a Christian who lives a, let’s say, very secular life. Any other Somali, even from her own clan, would not want to publicly emphasize how close they are lineally.

Don’t you think we’re reading into this too much? I don’t believe that men and women should be friends since I’m conservative, but don’t you think they’re just friends with a mutual professional relationship that benefits them both to have some sort of connection? Most of their online interactions has always been one in which Chunkz has heavily monetized.
I think because Maya is a very beautiful woman hence, people can’t fathom that Chunkz would feel platonic towards her. I truly do believe that young men look into their dynamic and create a more intense reading than it really is?
That’s just my take tbh. Also, comparing a clueless young woman who has never disrespected Islam and is only probably a gaal because her father married a gaalo and got himself imprisoned isn’t the same as a woman who has reviled her religion and culture and cozies up to Islamophobes.
