China to challenge US petro dollar

Kudos to the Chinese it looks like they are finally going through with it. In march 2018 the Chinese government plan to issue their own petro-yaun currency so that other countries can trade oil for their currency. This could negatively impact the us economic hegemony, which they were rumoured to have killed Gaddifi for threatening to trade his oil in dinar (thus destroying the dollar).

I'm not an economist but let me know what you guys think. Will china be met with political and physical pressure from the World bully organisation? Could we start seeing more terrorist groups rising up in china in the name of some Chinese ancient religion ?

China will largely replace the US as the global superpower but expect them to modernize and keep things the way the US did. It will be a largely peaceful transfer of dominance. You can't just dump treasury bonds at will because they have a maturity date and if that happens, China will get less returns for their original investments. let's say they get rid of the 1.2T. US dollar will go down, and our export will become cheaper and shoot through the roof. Basically it's not gonna do much like my fellow American said because our economy is like 20 times bigger.

You can't just dump treasury bonds at will because they have a maturity date and if that happens, China will get less returns for their original investments. let's say they get rid of the 1.2T. You can't dump them at will when things are normal, it would be stupid for them to do that but we're discussing what they'd do during war time. China literally has a strangehold on the US economy because if China sells it's treasuries, it will most likely trigger a chain reaction whereby many other investors sell their treasuries too. China will lose a lot less than the US and it will come out as the victor in this scenario.
