Somaliland was always getting recognised eventually. The logistics to incorporate Somaliland into Somalia is vertually impossible. The only reason it was delayed was because the US needed to topple the ICU and they needed puntland to make the Ethiopian invasion look halal. Puntland is no longer needed. They also needed to work with puntland to stop their territory being a safe haven for pirates

trade partners lol they need eachother for mutual economic coexistence but they are not good faith trade partners. Did you already forget the tariffs United States placed on China trade just 4 years ago? The tariffs were followed by restrictions to China’s ability to access high tech US products and foreign investments

And the Biden admin added additional sanctions so it’s not just a “last admin” type of thing. He even said it is “a battle between the utility of democracies in the twenty-first century and autocracies.”

The Cold War is not just limited to trade but real life activities. You have United States military in the South China Sea which is pissing China off. Just a couple days ago China built artificial islands in the sea and turned each one into military outpost. You also see China and America continuing to bicker over Taiwan. And you can see China currently routing American interest in East Africa

This is nothing short of a Cold War. A Cold War does NOT have to be nuclear. Educate yourself

Somaliland will gain from the section of their Cold War taking place in East Africa.

De jure recognition of JSL de facto independence requires Somaalia Italiana and JSL but @Awbarkhadle is right FGS/South federal government doesnt even have the logistics to reunite Somaalia Italiana how are they going to forcefully JSL/North with the South/FGS.
