The Shabaab first phase is complete which effectively liberated half of Hiiraan and most of Shabellaha Dhexe. Galmudug only has one degmo left, Ceelbuur, with now Xaradheere and Ceeldheer liberated.

The second phase is set to begin once we’ve got the new 15k troops back from training. They needed funding and weapons which takes a while to agree with foreign nations.

So let’s talk then. There’s no rush to such a major operation. South Somalia is a massive land mass and population so it takes more than 20,000 troops for us secure all of it. These new troops will be critical.
