It’s all about presentation for some people. My favourite Somali food is soor and people would probably call it disgusting from its looks but it’s so much better than bariis and pasta.

One of the many reasons I'm grateful that Allah made me Somali. If we get our country sorted, there really won't be anything people can knock us for.

Went to a nice Muslim Ethiopian spot in North London, it doesn't look appetising, but the smell and taste, but nothing beats Bariis iskukaris with maraq, love the cooked raisins, carrots with a side of shidni.

No one would think soor is disgusting. It is one of those international staple foods found in many cultures around the world.

Grits in America, Polenta in Italy, Mamaliga in Eastern Europe, Ugali in Kenya, Fufu in West Africa (although theirs is alot thicker in consistency), Pura in the Balkans, Its eaten as Polenta all over South America, Jamaicans call it conrmeal Porridge and in North Africa although the grain is different couscous is very similiar.

I forgot to add Asida in Yemen.

So it wouldn't be alien to many peoples.
