Actually the one who would had the advantage of these channels would those who have conquered east for the past 9 hundred years. Since these channels would gave them better navigation and connection in Africa, much.like the Volga river

These lakes are becoming bigger and bigger over time. Some lakes grow 2 km^2 and some over 799 KM^2 they are literally flooding in fresh water.
