Usin the Latin script for Somali come with it's advantages so this isn't a thread on how we should change the script rather why not use diacritics?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diacritic

Written Somali is annoying to read with the constant double aa's and ii's plus this doesn't look like it's going to take long to implement either.

Someone did an example on Reddit

• Sidéd tehay.

• Wán ku farax sanahay la kulan kága.

• Af-Sómáliga mád ku hadashá?

• Húfarkarafkayga waxá ka búxa éls.

It's shorter and much more efficient.

Well, Somali is hard to read for me, but it looks better than the double vowels writing imo.

In spoken Somali, the vowels really are stretched in speech with a frequency that’s interesting. According to a linguistics lecture I listened to, which detailed how human languages change and simplify over time, they’ll fall away from the language itself in time.
