We never learn.

A century or so ago, our forefathers were signing "protection" agreements with Europeans in an attempt to one up each other, only to find themselves colonial subjects and eventually lose half of Somali territory to Ethiopia and Kenya.

Today, the Europeans have been replaced by Arab and African proxies of the West. The sultanates have been replaced by competing and hostile statetlets and a toothless federal government that is a statelet in all but name, all eager to sign away anything of value in a desperate bid for supremacy (no offense to anybody )

How can they not see what is happening? How can they not realize they're following the same script? Our lack of foresight and inability to think beyond the immediate short term is baffling to me.

Our slavish devotion to the institution of qabiil has doomed us. The only natural ethnostate on the continent, with no racial, ethnic, linguistic, religious, or even class distinctions. Yet its absurdly homogenous population have decided to adopt a culture that creates artifical divisions where there are none.

Without a far reaching and unfortunately bloody cultural revolution, we are all doomed.

It’s because we don’t have an outlet. Our largest border isn’t with any 1 country, it’s with the sea. It’s the same reason we are an ethnic group, isolation. Sure Ethiopia and Kenya are there, but they already have part of our land so they don’t really need to do much else. Without any external enemies to focus our energies on, we do the next best thing which is to create enemies within. Think about when the first Islamic fitna happened, it was a civil war after the conquests stopped. No outlet = inner war.
