apparently the main reason why they do these brutal executions is so that they can gain favor with the public, they'll usually have a rival gang member and say some shit on how the cartel member was a piece of shit, basically they try to make themselves be righteous whilst simultaneously striking fear into the hearts of civilians On youtube, there is a guy called disturbed reality who covers it without showing the gore. he also does good research too i suggest everyone watch him for more info.
