Canjeero vs Laxoox vs Canjeelo

Laxoox, Canjeelo, Canjeero, iyo balaayoyinki aad wada cuntaan. :hova:

Imagine having a billion names for the exact same soggy, paint-tasting, prison breakfast-food you eat? :susp:
Malawaax is. at the very least, digestable. Not to mention good. :ahh:

#MalawaaxSupremacy :rejoice: :rejoice: :rejoice:
I probably had malawax like 2 times in my life. I donโ€™t see the appeal, weird texture and too sweet and kinda pountiess. Laxoox is far far superior but sabaayad takes the cake! Hands down best Somali flatbread! ๐Ÿ˜‹

well according to some sources laxoox originated from Yemen so I say thatโ€™s the correct name. Down south probably has Ethiopian influence. They even call chicken โ€œdoroโ€ which is also the Amharic word for chicken too. And Iโ€™m sure if I look more Iโ€™d find more examples.

Even much of the historically staple crops of the south like Durra are originally from Ethiopia rather than Bantus as some erroneously think. But there are plenty of "Ethiopian" influences in the north too like several southern ethiosemitic loanwords.

I'm familiar with Canjeero/Laxoox. First time I read Canjeelo I thought it was typo. I really don't know how you can call Canjeero Canjeelo๐Ÿ™‰

Malawax is too sweet, Sabaayad is too oily but the best Somali bread is Muufo Baraawe. I'm surprised no one mentioned Muufo Baraawe.
