Can you tell if someone is Somali by just there voice?

For men tho, I will say for the Americanized male ones, they almost never have really any bass in their voice like that, it’s rare but the ones back home can but still don’t too often

Maybe not quite they're voice but they're accents can have a slight difference to it then say their first language counterparts if theyre speaking a second language, otherwise it's kinda hard to tell fish in the water type of thing.

The choice of words can sometimes tell
Somali language has alot of sounds in its inventory, some have been standardized into consonants and vowels by Shire Jaamac "Jugge", a Somali linguist back in the 50-60s, it has been agreed Somali language is rich in sounds, this is why we have it rather easy when adapting our speech to new sounds in different dominant languages, we can produce most of their sounds with ease as they are already part of our own sounds, the sounds we don't have we can still produce them with little effort and training that could be due to intelligence or evolutionary capacity.

V = W or F
P = B
Z = S

Most of our parents prefer the latter conversions but can still make the actual sounds that are not Somali at all, and they can effectively use them.

English is not even part of our language family yet we can make their sounds better than Indians who are part of the same language family as english.

What you and the OP are talking about is not Sound, but Etiquette.

I don’t know how but I can almost always recognize somali girls voices, like the teenagers, regardless if they speak somali or even have an accent, I can just tell they’re somali.

I disagree. Some Somalis do not have recognizable inflections in their voice when speaking English.

Nope.

I reckon any Somali who grew up in the west has many different accents depending on the situation. You won’t be able to tell they Somali unless they speak fob English.

Yes. For me it’s the way they say the word “wallahi”. Not the fact that they say it, uts the way that they say it. Somalis just pronounce ut a certain way that only we do

Depends on their upbringing. If they’ve learnt at least some Somali they have a unique Somali phonetics.

I can tell 95% are Somali from their voice but if they can’t even say Wallahi with a Somali twang then no.
