Can you refuse to testify in court after getting a subpoena?

What can a person do to avoid testifying? Bare in mind, we also can’t plead the 5th in Canada.

Well you can but you will be charged with obstruction. I know of a guy that did this and he was arrested at the airport when he came back after the trial is over. He rather to go jail for a few years than snitch kkkkkk. I don't blame him. The guy he was supposed to testify against is no joke.
