Did Ibn Battuta really say Mogadishu had an eagle as their coat of arms?
Kinda weird as we don’t have a history of falconry.

Interesting I guess eagles and lions are just a universal symbol of royalty.
Somaliland lolthe eagle is a symbol of the arabs and islam, many arab countries use it on their emblems such as yemen, egypt, somaliland, iraq etc. it is called نسر صلاح الدين
the emblem of somaliland is an eagle and somaliland is an arab country much like our brothers djibouti and somalia, we are like the arab trio of east africaSomaliland lol
Its a universal symbol but Byzantium did it firstthe eagle is a symbol of the arabs and islam, many arab countries use it on their emblems such as yemen, egypt, somaliland, iraq etc. it is called نسر صلاح الدين
We are part Arab League due to our shared religion and culture not us being Arabsthe emblem of somaliland is an eagle and somaliland is an arab country much like our brothers djibouti and somalia, we are like the arab trio of east africa
Somalia’s flag should be changed to a modified version of the Darwish flag with the Golden Falcon in the centre.the eagle is a symbol of the arabs and islam, many arab countries use it on their emblems such as yemen, egypt, somaliland, iraq etc. it is called نسر صلاح الدين
If we were to get a new flag I’d propose a redesign of Adal’s flag, something like this:Somalia’s flag should be changed to a modified version of the Darwish flag with the Golden Falcon in the centre.
The current flag looks gay. The new flag would look kind of similar to Mauritania’s flag, but with Red borders also going parallel:

The Romans literally did it first. Especially the orthodox influence by byzantium.the eagle is a symbol of the arabs and islam, many arab countries use it on their emblems such as yemen, egypt, somaliland, iraq etc. it is called نسر صلاح الدين
banadiri sources did not mention it because it was written recentlyNo he didn't, that wasn't the flag either, why would animals drawings be used as a flag when it's haram , it would be mentioned in banadiri sources if there were any flags

Funnily enough it's only banadiris that preserved their history through manuscripts, obviously you'd be envious since your history preservation was basically Chinese whispersBanadiri were too busy writing down Indian food recipes than actually historical sources
