If this is referring to dna, then it has no bearing on lineage. There are lots of explanations as to why someone’s Dna doesn’t match up to their lineage without invalidating the whole genealogy

It's just an alliance, but ethnically regardless of haplogroup Somalis are a near match for earlier Cushitics groups that lived in Southern Kenya and parts of Northern Tanzania, the culture was called elmenteitan, this was before the spread of bantus to east Africa, being pastoralist community, we roamed around.
