People need to realise race is a social construct and whilst there are seemingly rigid rules, as time passes on those rules change or allowances are made because at the end of the day it’s not a scientific thing and it’s just groups human organise themselves into.

Our ancestors aren't stupid, they know what they are. Many clans/tribes as far as Pakistan do the same.
Somali clans claim lineage from a certain man on the Arabian peninsular that links them back to the prophet as a way of showing their connection to islam by being part of the house of the prophet. It's nothing to do with actually being arab, no one cares about the Arab people in somalia, only the prophet.

Yes there are many that believe they are arabs and use and. Misinterpret thisclan lineage thing to justify it. It's just self hate really. As you said, claiming false ancestry is haram, our people claimed to be part of the house of the prophet, our ancestors never actually thought of themselves as being descended from Arabs, that would've been a dishonour to their tribe claim a foriegn ethnicity.

Some of these ana carabs making us look like conquered people like north africans. Arabs never touched our lands in all 1,500 years they were relevant. We converted and accepted the message of Islam on the Somali coast early and made up a story of how we are "decedents" of some guys that links us to the prophet as a way of saying that we are part of his house of Islam. Northern Italians don’t have high amounts of Germanic ancestry contrary to popular beliefs. They’re genetic composition is very close to the early Romans. Modern Spaniards and Southern French are close genetically as well to North Italians.
