As islam is so deeply ingrained in our culture its hard to seperate religion from our dhaqan. With the salafi movement on the rise, both backhome and with the diaspora, its difficult to connect with certain somalis.

it'll honestly be difficult considering how the diin plays a key role in our culture, i personally have no issue with any somali that happens to not be muslim, as long as they have love for our people and wish the best for our country theyre still my somali brother/sister

Religion overall is on the decline in the west and as more Somalis access technology and information online, it will be acceptable to be a gaal.

Lol being a Somali has nothing to do with Islam. Stop conflating the two. There were Somalis before Islam and there are Somalis who are Muslim. Your religious beliefs have nothing to do with your ethnicity.
