He claims to be Tumaal so no one can go after him. I suspect he's from a major clan with Shanshi reer abti (he vigorously defended Shanshi one time).

It's unbecoming to go after a discriminated minority and it will look bad on you. He picked Tumaal so he can fadhi ku dirir without anyone attacking him back (similar to people who don't disclose their clan but still attack other clans).
