He made a great point. Khawaarij held territory can't be freed through orders from Xamar. It needs to be a local initiative and supported actively by the people (read: clans) inhabiting the said land, and first then ask for assistance from SNA & Co.

Otherwise, AS will (at best) only be temporarily removed after massive efforts and heavy losses, only for them to return back shortly after. Also, relying on the leaders of Somalia to free its people by themselves will not lead us with any gains.

Totally. Shir beeleed needs to be held in every region prior to thinking about engaging with AS, so the locals can reconcile their differences, at least temporary, and unite against the khawaarij. Uniting their clansmen, elders and high profiled politicians from their clan, from urban areas far from AS will not suffice.

And some clans need to stop using the gov't/SNA to push and expand their clan interests through the war. It sets us back while simultaneously turning the locals (who're only familiar with AS after decades of rule) hesitant to participate in their 'liberations'.
