The Quraan uses Green above other colours to depict imagery of raax and jannah, this is because of the meaning of the word in arabic خضر is best translated into english as "verdure" or "verdancy" i.e. the green related to foliage and vegetation. Jannah is thus most frequently described as verdant as can be seen in numerous aayaat:
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍۢ وَعَبْقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍۢ⟫ [They are] recliners upon green cushions and beautiful carpets
عَـٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌۭ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌۭ ۖ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍۢ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًۭا طَهُورًا⟫ Upon them are green silk thawbs and silk brocade, and they get sweetened with bracelets made of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure beverage to drink

It does make sense that the ultimate reward is the most beautiful foliage given that the saxaabo were desert dwellers who would not see great gardens as such, and so verdure as a concept becomes the most valuable thing to strive towards for these people. Imagining inuits promised a supernatural iteration of the bahamas helps to put this in perspective in my opinion

This is the laqab of the wise servant of Allaah who taught Muusaa a lesson in the etiquette of seeking knowledge, and his name is not given to us. Maxey ninkan ula dhaheen the Verdant? the nebi csw answers this in a hadiith:
«إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ الْخَضِرُ أَنَّهُ جَلَسَ عَلَى فَرْوَةٍ بَيْضَاءَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَهْتَزُّ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ خَضْرَاءَ»
«Indeed, [the reason] he was called Al-Khadir is that he [once] sat upon a white furwa and then it wrothe green from behind him.»
The word furw, in arabic is فرو and it refers to a fur or pelt. Here the nebi csw refers to a white furwa, and this is an analogy to refer to dry land, because when the grass dries and wilts it turns light Like fur. Then it says it wrothe or shuddered green behind him, meaning it grew and came out as plants, and the green is analogous to crop. Fun fact this is where the word qudaar/khudaar comes from.

From here we take the perspective of Muusaa who is travelling with his boy (servant) called Yuushac bin Nuun (Joshua), and he is travelling because of an admonition he received from Allaah. Once when Muusa was addressing banii Israa'iil, a man from them asked Muusaa: Which [i.e. who] from mankind is most knowing? Muusaa says: Anaa- and this his mistake, and Allaah rebuked him for not referring [all] the Knowledge to him. And Allaah continues saying: Rather, to me [belongs] a servant by the junction of the two seas who is more knowledgable than you. Muusaa says: Oh my Lord, how can I be with him? Allaah replies: Take a fish, and put it in a basket, [and] wherever you lose the fish then he is there. Yuushac is carrying the fish
Pro tip for arabic learners or general people have the audio of the surah at this point (18:60-->) playing and try to follow the translation. It forces you to take your time reading and actually take in the words rather than rereading a sentence 10 times. Also note that my translations are very literal which is why i add context, the arabic is vague using a lot of pronouns "he said" "he said" but with context you should know who is doing stuff, and it typically switches between 2 people whenever it says "he said"
«وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِفَتَىٰهُ لَآ أَبْرَحُ حَتَّىٰٓ أَبْلُغَ مَجْمَعَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ أَوْ أَمْضِىَ حُقُبًۭا ● فَلَمَّا بَلَغَا مَجْمَعَ بَيْنِهِمَا نَسِيَا حُوتَهُمَا فَٱتَّخَذَ سَبِيلَهُۥ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ سَرَبًۭا ● فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَا قَالَ لِفَتَىٰهُ ءَاتِنَا غَدَآءَنَا لَقَدْ لَقِينَا مِن سَفَرِنَا هَـٰذَا نَصَبًۭا ● قَالَ أَرَءَيْتَ إِذْ أَوَيْنَآ إِلَى ٱلصَّخْرَةِ فَإِنِّى نَسِيتُ ٱلْحُوتَ وَمَآ أَنسَىٰنِيهُ إِلَّا ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَنْ أَذْكُرَهُۥ ۚ وَٱتَّخَذَ سَبِيلَهُۥ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ عَجَبًۭا ● قَالَ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنَّا نَبْغِ ۚ فَٱرْتَدَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَارِهِمَا قَصَصًۭا ● فَوَجَدَا عَبْدًۭا مِّنْ عِبَادِنَآ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنْ عِندِنَا وَعَلَّمْنَـٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّا عِلْمًۭا»

«And [remember] when Muusaa said to his boy: I will not cease until I reach the junction of the two seas or ages pass by. ● Then, when they reached the junction between the two [seas], they forgot their fish, and it took its way in the sea, like slipping away. ● Then, when they crossed beyond, he said to his boy: Give us our morning meal, [for] we have surely suffered exhaustion from this journey of ours. ● He said: Did you see when we took shelter to the rock? and then indeed, I lost the fish, and none caused me to forget it if not the Shaydaan- [to forget] that I mention it, and it took its way in the sea wondrously. ● He said: That is what we were seeking. So they returned upon their footsteps, retracing [them]. ● Then they saw a servant from Our servants [to whom] We gave him mercy from Ours and We taught him from Our [possession] knowledge.»

"Weligaaga adigu ma ii dulqaadi karo eena sidee adigu dulqaadi karaa wax ee ogaashadaada ma koobo"
The next few aayaat serve as set up to the actions AlKhadir takes and thereupon the explanation and moral of the story:
«قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ هَلْ أَتَّبِعُكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُعَلِّمَنِ مِمَّا عُلِّمْتَ رُشْدًۭا ● قَالَ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبْرًۭا ● وَكَيْفَ تَصْبِرُ عَلَىٰ مَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِۦ خُبْرًۭا ● قَالَ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ صَابِرًۭا وَلَآ أَعْصِى لَكَ أَمْرًۭا ● قَالَ فَإِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَنِى فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِى عَن شَىْءٍ حَتَّىٰٓ أُحْدِثَ لَكَ مِنْهُ ذِكْرًۭا»

«Muusaa said to him: Can I follow you upon [the condition] that you teach me from what you have been taught of right guidance? ● He said: Indeed, you will never be able [to have] patience with me, ● and how can you be patient for what you do not encompass with thorough awareness? ● He said: You will find me ALLAAH-willing a patient one, and I [will] not disobey you in an order. ● He said: Then if you follow me, do not ask me anything until I present from it a mention [reason] to you.»

"War hee dheh maxaad saas sameyntay no" "3 Istarayk Baad Heystay Waryaa! Nabad geliyo"
Now Muusaa follows AlKhadir through his journeys throughout the lands as AlKhadir performs various questionable actions and afterwards he explains xikmada behind them, and i will explain the xikimada provided based on tafsiir ibn kathiir
«فَٱنطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَكِبَا فِى ٱلسَّفِينَةِ خَرَقَهَا ۖ قَالَ أَخَرَقْتَهَا لِتُغْرِقَ أَهْلَهَا لَقَدْ جِئْتَ شَيْـًٔا إِمْرًۭا ● قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُلْ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبْرًۭا ● قَالَ لَا تُؤَاخِذْنِى بِمَا نَسِيتُ وَلَا تُرْهِقْنِى مِنْ أَمْرِى عُسْرًۭا ● فَٱنطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا لَقِيَا غُلَـٰمًۭا فَقَتَلَهُۥ قَالَ أَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًۭا زَكِيَّةًۢ بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍۢ لَّقَدْ جِئْتَ شَيْـًۭٔا نُّكْرًۭا ● قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكَ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبْرًۭا ● قَالَ إِن سَأَلْتُكَ عَن شَىْءٍۭ بَعْدَهَا فَلَا تُصَـٰحِبْنِى ۖ قَدْ بَلَغْتَ مِن لَّدُنِّى عُذْرًۭا ● فَٱنطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَتَيَآ أَهْلَ قَرْيَةٍ ٱسْتَطْعَمَآ أَهْلَهَا فَأَبَوْا۟ أَن يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيهَا جِدَارًۭا يُرِيدُ أَن يَنقَضَّ فَأَقَامَهُۥ ۖ قَالَ لَوْ شِئْتَ لَتَّخَذْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًۭا ● قَالَ هَـٰذَا فِرَاقُ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنِكَ ۚ سَأُنَبِّئُكَ بِتَأْوِيلِ مَا لَمْ تَسْتَطِع عَّلَيْهِ صَبْرًا ● أَمَّا ٱلسَّفِينَةُ فَكَانَتْ لِمَسَـٰكِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ فَأَرَدتُّ أَنْ أَعِيبَهَا وَكَانَ وَرَآءَهُم مَّلِكٌۭ يَأْخُذُ كُلَّ سَفِينَةٍ غَصْبًۭا ● وَأَمَّا ٱلْغُلَـٰمُ فَكَانَ أَبَوَاهُ مُؤْمِنَيْنِ فَخَشِينَآ أَن يُرْهِقَهُمَا طُغْيَـٰنًۭا وَكُفْرًۭا ● فَأَرَدْنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُ زَكَوٰةًۭ وَأَقْرَبَ رُحْمًۭا ● وَأَمَّا ٱلْجِدَارُ فَكَانَ لِغُلَـٰمَيْنِ يَتِيمَيْنِ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ وَكَانَ تَحْتَهُۥ كَنزٌۭ لَّهُمَا وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَـٰلِحًۭا فَأَرَادَ رَبُّكَ أَن يَبْلُغَآ أَشُدَّهُمَا وَيَسْتَخْرِجَا كَنزَهُمَا رَحْمَةًۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ وَمَا فَعَلْتُهُۥ عَنْ أَمْرِى ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَأْوِيلُ مَا لَمْ تَسْطِع عَّلَيْهِ صَبْرًۭا»
«So the two set out until, when they rode in the ship, he perforated it. He said: Did you perforated it to drown its people? Surely you have done an abominable thing. ● He said: Did I not say {Indeed, you will never be able [to have] patience with me}? ● He said: Do not blame me with what I forgot and do not exhaust me in my affair with hardship. ● Then the two set out until, when they met a boy, he killed him. He said: Did you kill a pure soul, not for a soul? Surely you have done an evil thing! ● He said: Did I not say to you {Indeed, you will never be able [to have] patience with me}? ● He said: If I ask you about anything after this then do not keep me company- you have gotten an excuse [apology] from me. ● Then the two set out until, when they came to people of a village, they asked its people for food, but they refused to offer them hospitality. Then they saw in there a wall which wanted to collapse, and he [re]established it. He said: If you wished you surely could have taken a reward from them. ● He said: This is parting between me and between you- I will inform you of the interpretation of what you were not able to have patience upon. ● As for the ship, it was [belonged] to poor people working in the sea, so I wanted to cause a flaw on it as after them was a king taking every ship by force. ● And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared that he would overwhelm them in transgression and disbelief, ● so we wanted for their LORD to replace for them [with one] better than him in purity and closer in mercy. ● And as for the wall, it was [belonged] to two orphan boys in the town, and under it there was a treasure for them, and their father was a righteous man, so your LORD wanted that they reach majority and extract their treasure, [as] a mercy from your LORD- and I did not do it from my own accord. That is the interpretation of what you were not able to have patience upon.»

The ship scenario is that the king was oppressive and all the good ships he would take for himself to use, so to protect the masaakiin in the ship AlKhadir would damage it so the ship wouldn't be sound when the king examines it, then the masaakiin can continue doing their work in the sea. With the boy, the nebi's CSW hadith is consulted:
«الْغُلَامُ الَّذِي قَتَلَهُ الْخَضِرُ طُبِعَ يَوْمَ طُبِعَ كَافِرًا»
«The boy that AlKhadir killed- he was stamped [destined] as a disbeliever on the day he was stamped.»
This is typically interpreted as meaning he was always going to be a disbeliever no matter what as that is how Allaah fashioned him. And his parents would be burdened by his transgression and disbelief because their parental love may have driven them to their doom by following him in his ways. To reward them they are given another child who is righteous and purer. With the wall, if it had fallen then the treasure of the two orphan boys would be visible to the people of the village and they may have taken the wealth for themselves, so AlKhadir ensures by repairing the wall that only the orphans get their wealth, and asking for reward for fixing the wall would only bring unwanted attention to it.
One interesting detail the tafsiir brought to my attention is how AlKhadir says {not able to have patience} تستطع عليه صبرا the word تستطع is used mostly throughout this qisa, but at the end he uses تسطع without the second ta, this is a less intense form of the verb and so it is used when the confusion is resolved as opposed to when it is max he uses the more intensive form.

Nebi miyaa?
The tafsiir favours the view that AlKhadir was a prophet because at the end he says {as a mercy from your Lord and I did not do it out of my own accord}, meaning Allaah commanded him specifically to do specific things, and also because Allaah says {a servant from Our servants [to whom] We gave him mercy from Ours and We taught him from Our [possession] knowledge}. I don't know how exactly that second point links but the tafsiir mentions it so I add it

I want to add that The fact that we don't know AlKhadir's name does not discount his prophethood, for example Nuux his name was not actually nuux but rather they called him nuux because he was always mourning for himself and for his people's salvation for 950 years

Scholars debate whether his name is AlSakan or cabdimalik or cabdul Aclaa or cabdul ghaffaar but they all agree that nuux was not his name but a name given to him. Similarly as xadiith i quoted earlier says AlKhadir was also a name allocated to him
