So locking up people for no reason is normal for you, we should be aiming better for our people. He was in jail for 7 months for nonsense, I though everyone has free speech unless you are threat to the security of the land. He should not have been locked up for so long for his views.what all you are missing is this case proves just how independent, apolitical and robust the Somaliland judiciary is. He had a trial where the state presented its case, and his defense presented their case. And Coldon prevailed. Something like this is unthinkable in Xaarmajo Somalia and any other place in the HOA region.
First off he wasn't locked up for no reason. The man made some outrageous claims without evidence and in Somaliland that is a criminal offense. Somaliland allows free speech but it has its limits and Coldoon crossed the line. If SL allowed just anybody to say whatever they wanted, we'd see social division, tribalism on steroids and it would all in Hargeisa being like Mogadishu. Like I said, he had a fair and impartial trial and was found innocent by the court. I have my own issues with the school...I think personally its a front for western liberals to take over the country but I wouldn't make such claims publicly without evidence. What SL needs is an independent body that certifies the Schools. Any farax can open a school there right now. But by having a gov agency that regulates the schools, then Abraarso would be brought under control. So locking up people for no reason is normal for you, we should be aiming better for our people.
