The Gentrification of South London is a very good thing wallahi. That area used to be a crime ridden shithole and now the cadaans moved in and are cleaning it up.
People complain about anything. My area was gentrified many years ago, it went from an area with black and asian gangs roaming around w/ high knife crime and now we've got so many resources it looks like a middle class area. It's also much safer now and alot of white and chinese people have moved here.
Also, before the only shops near my house were dingy corner shops and supermarkets, now we've got a whole outlet mall, literally all fast food places/restaurants you can think off and a huge library.

I don't like this attitude of only chavs can be racist. Middle class cadaans are a lot more subtle with their bullshit.

A lot of cadaans who have sold their properties in London to move into these outer areas did so, specifically because they no longer felt that their communities were English or "had changed". So imagine the great reception you will receive when you try to greet them with your jilbaab.

You have a good point in regards to the current housing situation in London, its fking nuts.

But a sense of community is even more important

In recent times that may be the case however, there's been a trend of working class cadaans in inner London moving out to outer London/home counties since before ww2 as seen in this figure:

2015-2_2.png

As you can see, the greatest drop is between 1961-1981 which is well before the large influx of the foreign born population we know today.

This is because the cadaans of inner London (especially the ones from the east-end and other poorer areas) were moved out after ww2 to new estates (as part of the home for heroes scheme and other similar initiatives) to the outskirts/home counties such as Becontree, Essex (which today is a part of outer london due to the greater London act 1963).

The reasoning for this is because a lot of the properties in the poorer parts of inner London were located in highly dense, smoggy areas where the inhabitants used to share toilets in the gardens right up to the 80s!

The east-end/inner london was a deeply unpopular area to live in then and it was the people of the commonwealth (chiefly the bengalis) who moved into the dilapidated east-end from the 70s.

South London has been gentrified lmao it's full of cadaans now. I remember when you couldnt walk thru brixton hill at night without getting shanked :chrisfreshhah:

The crazy person on the bus is accurate lol there's always one person :russ:

:pacspit: @ you all for supporting gentrification. Allow the skyrocketing rent and moving to the edge of London

I already moved once I'm not moving again :pacspit::pacspit::pacspit:

You meet the funniest people at brixton market. Cannabis is a awful drug. I am 19 don't go school, college or university. I chill at home.

Hackney has turned into a retro hippy shithole. No one can live in London anymore. It's becoming ridiculous. Somali's are being moved out to Hertfordshire. Even in South Tottenham, we've got these cadaan hippys that have moved in and my local chicken shop is taking full advantage. £3.00 for a chicken fillet meal:susp:taking the piss.

London is overrated but if your young and looking for fantastic night life and places to go, London seems great but once you hit the age where you want to settle most move out. I wish to work in London experience life then move out of the country, Britain is becoming a crappy place to live year by year.
