Treating others well is not submissive behavior. We dont have subservient behavior as you see much in the post-colonial mindset of other groups of people that I will not point the finger towards, specifically. But you are correct to some extent. Somalis are tribalists. However, I have lived 30 years and have only once experienced insecure projection of tribalism (indirectly) from an individual who did not even know me. And I have encountered Somalis from all clans. From my experience, you can experience tribalism if you seek it, but if you live normally, you will not even encounter it. The average Joe does not talk about tribalism or hate individuals from certain clans in everyday interactions when they come across a person from other clans. And Somalis are good with hospitality and helping other Somalis. We're known for that. That video was not pedestalizing, only capturing the novelty of a Chinese Muslim in lands they usually never settle.
People online like to make a nice tolerant moment into something to beat Somalis with. Damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Pride is when u treat ur own people better than foreigners which happens in most countries. Somalia is one of the few countries tht treats foreigners better than their own people.
