The ammount of money that is pumped in to Somalia and is handed over to the most corrupt country in the world and yet we can’t afford to have our own army!

Where is this money going? Why do we blindly trust our leaders? Somalia has received billions in aid through out the war and we barely have any roads. Should we call on foreign countries to stop providing aid until we deal with corruption?

Somalia and Money:ohno:
Maybe another century, but not now. It's gonna be wasted and vanish like a fart in the atmosphere.

Could be a chance tho:ohhh:

SOMALIKNIGHT

These Westerners dont give the money because if you go to Somalia now there is no evidence of that money being spent and the NGOs are always asking for money to do a project. I heard $100 million was donated 50 times. It's all propaganda. $30 million for the soldiers but how come they only have Chinese made $5 uniform and Indian made AK47 for $100? The weapons they have is actually not even new but from warlords who are just leading their clan militias but claim to be government soldiers

Foreign aid money to governments is cancer.
These assholes take the money and have an incentive to keep the country unstable.

I'm 99.95% sure these people know this and keep pumping that money because a stable Somalia would cost them more money than an unstable one.

This is how much they pay the UK Somali population in welfare annually.

They don't want more Somali. They are planning ahead.

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

Vague promises. Western countries promise 100M each time and the FGS doesn't see a fraction of that. HAG get the remaining fraction of the money that reach government offices.

All aid from the west is to fulfill three purposes:

1. Fund & Resupply Al Shabaab
2. Pay off corruption politicans to keep the status quo
3. Provide "Humantarian" aid which in short floods the market with cheap produce, under cutting and essentially destroying the agricultural industry which keeps us dependent on aid

120 million is a lot of aid money instead of donating it and nobody knowing what’s was spent with the money or how much goes to corruption I have a better idea don’t give any Aid money that’s just a temporary solution and will make Somali leaders beg for more when it runs out

Instead of aid why not think long term train the hospital staff in the country

Train how to deal with mental illness

Teach the government to limit the food that’s exported from other countries and focus more on what’s locally produced so all the money made stays in the country

Train people how to farm more efficiently ,take care of crops, animals, sanitation etc

Train the military

Train the police force

Real estate agents in Dubai are rejoicing :rejoice:
Big quarter coming up:lolbron:

$120m gonna buy some nice villas for the taxi drivers in the govt:siilaanyolaugh:

How much does it even cost to maintain an army, border patrol, navy ect..?

:gucciwhat:

Lets use the UK (pop. 65m) as an example

British Armed Forces spend £50bn a year

Gets you 150k professional soldiers

Maritime

• At 1 April 2018 there were 10 submarines and 70 vessels in the UK Armed Forces (60 vessels in the Royal Navy Surface Fleet; 10 vessels in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary). The reduction from 11 submarines in 2017 to 10 in 2018 is due to HMS TORBAY being decommissioned in 2017.
Land

• In the UK Armed Forces, there were a total of 4094 Key Land Platforms at 1 April 2018, consisting of:
  • 1759 Armoured Personnel Carriers
  • 1907 Protected Mobility Vehicles
  • 428 Armoured Fighting Vehicles.
• The only change in number since 2017 is with Armoured Personnel Carriers, which is due to a reduction in the number of Bulldog Armoured Personnel Carriers (from 895 in 2017 to 891).
• At 1 April 2018, there were 31 Regular Army Battalions in the Infantry and 15 Army Reserves Battalions.
Air

• At 1 April 2018 there were 646 Fixed-wing aircraft and 332 Rotary-wing aircraft in the UK Armed Forces. Although this is a reduction for both since last year, the number of Fixed-wing aircraft recorded as ‘in service’ has increased (from 309 in 2017 to 330).
• In addition, there were 281 Unmanned Aircraft Systems as at 1 April, unchanged from the previous year.

This is not including the coast guard, which for Somalia would require 100s of vessels and 10,000+ personnel

This isn’t even funny tbh

Disgusting for a country that goes through famine, terrorism and land grabs from neighbours.

Our useless politicians should hang their heads in shame

You think people who steal money which was intended for starving children have a conscience?

This will go on until the Somali people stand up to their leaders.
