I was watching a documentary that explained on how they were funding for an Al Qaeda branch in Mozambique funny thing is that same milita group became loyal to ISIS, same case in Congo.

He sent federal soldiers when they were not needed, therefore broadening the war, making it about Ethiopia and Somalia. That’s not good for us ogadens. They attacked with 530 men on day one, 100s more on week 2 near hiiran border and thry are fighting again today. Alshabab hasn’t done anything like this for years. Anywyas time will tell what their true motif is.

This is a suicide mission from Shabaab. To spend 500+ men on this attack after a decade of not attacking Ethiopia’s border? It’s all very hard to believe they just felt like it.

Tbh I personally think it’s because they feel like they need another base given SNA/US have increase operations and aren’t confident they can stay in the areas they currently hold. But we can’t rule out foreign interference imo.
