UPDATE The new Acting UN Special Representative for Somalia, James Swan, arrives in Mogadishu

I'm not familiar what did he do to avoid the chimp out of dothraki hawiye
James swan legitimized the opposition to kick Farmaajo out. While sitting with the FMS, he was telling them to reject every demand from farmaajo in the letters he sent back to the opposition. So he’s potent against centralization. He was in control of the whole situation, by choosing which meetings the IC recognizes, and which ones they don’t.

What does it mean then? And who is this man?
It means the US is going to make sure elections go smoothly in Somalia. They are taking the UN role exceptionally serious by bringing in James swan who exemplifies chapter 7 in its most colonialist form. With him around, there is no more “qofna ma lo joojin maayo”, he’ll be there to make sure PL and any other FMS who are opposition to the president are heard. Somali politicians have come under threat of sanctions if they refuse to listen to him previously. And it can happen again.

the opposite can also be true. He could be there to declare deni a spoiler and threaten him with consequences. But something tells me that’s not the case.

The only good point is that the elections will be smooth, but the rest is not promising. Frankly, there would be states within states in this case

Somalis should solve their own problems, and this is not necessarily good news. It’s great though that now there will be accountability involved.

if this guy says return to direct elections and drop the constitution, no one can refuse. The opposite is also true.

Damn we deserve all of this demeaning shit wallahi. Failed society. Failed people. I'm actually beyond embarrassed how a random nigga can dictate direction of the country. The alternative is probably war though. What hope is there for a united Somalia?

If this was the 1920s instead of the 2020s, there would be nationalist armed movements coming out of every area of Somalia. The fact that there aren't any during a time when the country is completely humiliated daily and on its knees shows that Somali nationalism is dead.

Qoslaya now will deal with someone has background how games goes, plus he will come to Qoslaya not for Deni.

Example, xarmajoo elections Deni refuse it under James watch.

This guy is a American. The present 'representative' is from the UK.
Both colonial countries that think muslims are scums of the earth.
Look how they treat Palestinians and Somalis allow these people into the country dictating to them what they should do or shouldn't do.
Really Somalia is a failed society and country.

the Somalis back home I’ve spoken with don’t have bad view of the UN. Some don’t like amisom though. They think of halane as just IC spectating how somalia is running.

Hassan may have heard that this guy is coming back and tried closing down the UN in response. But according to sources, the james swan thing came after that.
