True to its historic commitment to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognize the State of Palestine.
I will make the solemn announcement at the United Nations General Assembly next September.
The urgency today is to end the war in Gaza and to provide aid to the civilian population.
Peace is possible.
There must be an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and massive humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. It is also necessary to ensure the demilitarization of Hamas, secure and rebuild Gaza. Finally, it is essential to build the State of Palestine, ensure its viability, and enable it, by accepting its demilitarization and fully recognizing Israel, to contribute to the security of all in the Middle East.
There is no alternative.
The French people want peace in the Middle East. It is up to us, the French, together with the Israelis, the Palestinians, and our European and international partners, to demonstrate that it is possible.
In light of the commitments made to me by the president of the Palestinian Authority, I have therefore written to him of my determination to move forward.
Confidence, clarity, and commitment.
We will achieve peace.

France is one of the most islamaphobic nations in europe. This is surprising coming from them
Tarriffs threats will be a given, but I wonder if he'll leverage the US security blanket and participation in NATO. France usually tries to establish itself as a counterbalance to the US laakiin this is a third rail issue and they dun f'd up. Also Spain has been misbehaving by refusing to increase military spending (even though most EU states won't and are just trying to bide Trump's term) and using Chinese telecoms for intel.
The demilitarization of any Palestinian State would be to leave it at the whims of Israel. In essence a Palestine vassal state with no monopoly on violence within it's border meaning an "illegal" resifnace group will pop up once again giving Israel unprecedented reign to finally try and destroy Palestine with the a brand new shiny cover story.
France although a very anti muslim nation in itself still has shown courage when needed the most. Sometimes out of the blue they change course and surprise you. They could have joined the stupid war on Iraq while their fellow whites nation were ganging up on Iraq but showed courage against adversities and history showed they were on the right side. Same with recognizing Palestine, history will show France did the right thing. Never ever count France out.
France is in a good place when it comes to it's military, everything is built inhouse, Charles de Gaulle shaped french policy for when America abandons EU.

This speaks the truth of their intent and the empty language of promise that is deep down sinister. You can't say Palestine is going to be sovereign and then say you have to demilitarize and "fully recognize Israel" (whatever that means), and we'll rebuild (it's framed in a structural language but they also mean putting in a political organization they control entirely).
Basically they're saying you're going to become another Israel-Western puppet state that is an independent country in nothing but name. PLO has several times tried to signal recognition of Israel, while the Israelis scream and say "they don't recognize the Jewish state" while turning a blind eye, not even respecting its existence. These French want to validate a country doing genocide by aiding in the same language that is used to justify the genocide. Before October 7th, these guys used to speak the same language and operate an apartheid state for many years. In fact, if the Gazans ever said, alright and did what these French say, the Israelis could do their genocide quicker since their objective is to take the land and weaken resistance.
As I said many times, one state, two state, those are not something the Israelis want. The current genocidal, apartheid condition is what those wicked guys consider an ideal process, expansion for themselves by the destruction of the Palestinians.

Because its a facad, it comes with a lot of conditions like a demilitarized "State" which has no sovereignty and can be invaded any time, so basically what the West Bank is now but with official recognition.
The only way forward is a single state, but we know the endgame, they'll slowly kill them and exile them from their land until it's complete.

One-state solution is what they want the least. That would democratically depose the ethnocratic character. They want to keep it Jewish-run and dominated. It's democratic within its ethnic supremacist notions. When Arabs voted extra a few years back, Netanyahu went into a panic on national TV under an emergency and said Arabs are voting in droves and that the Jews had to counteract that with votes, otherwise that would put the country in their hands.
The Palestinians should never want a One-state either. Israel, frankly put, can never exist as it does today. You can have a Nazi-like country as your neighbor and expect everything to be nice and dandy. Israelis need a severe change in how they think and frankly, now, the majority of the country is indoctrinated with brainwashed paranoia, big kibir from their religion, thinking everyone but them is inferior as in, every reaction to their foul behavior is merely reflection of the spiritual defect of the "nations", and then believe they have the right to hold the land between Mesopotamia to Egypt.
Frankly speaking, majority of Israelis do not care about the genocide that happens. They refuse to recognize Palestinians as humans. How in the world can you share a country or expect such people to be honest actors that value any contract? I'm sure there are nice individuals in that country, but that nation is rotten. I see no internal incentive for them to change since they see their negative traits as good and/or necessary.
I blame their rabbinical order to a large extent when it comes to racial and religious attitudes. They sanction a lot of evil from their own personal twisted ideas that really have little to do with their core religion (but a big part of their ethno-religious tradition). They are very influential among Jews, even the secular ones. Nationalism has roots in colonialism and is based on direct Western imperial pillars; merge those together, and you have a wicked propagation.
A lot of Jews grow up with that, and they also have personal nuances. So they might sometimes hold heterodox positions, but their allegiance and disposition are never in question, coming off as hypocrites (they can start off criticizing Israel but then you see them defending the core issues that causes the death and misery) except for rare ones (speaking of Israelis here). It's the guys outside the country that hold different views (many of them do not) because they are not really indoctrinated within the same spells.
Palestinians can't share a country with a public that generally is like that. You might say, but there are Palestinians in Israel. Yes. Those are effectively second-class citizens; they earn less than half of the average Jews (if you compare it to the Ashkenazi alone, that would be starker), the country is quite segregated, where the average Jew kind of never engages with a Palestinian, which is insane because 20% means you should encounter them often. Palestinians are othered; they are not in-group whatsoever. That is why Palestinians in Israel are under no illusion and support their counterparts in Gaza. They also don't see themselves as Israelis.

A lot of the middle-aged citizens in the UK dislike Corbyn. He is a good politician, but they are very tabloid-obsessed, and those tabloids went on campaigns to destroy his reputation since he holds economic views that are less elite-friendly. The unaware general public are a sensitive bunch; if he said he does not like tea and biscuits, they would act shocked.
