Somaliland was never at the colonized state. It started at the protectorate state and then got independence and then joined the failed state of Somalia

What happened was British tried to colonize us but they realized we have sultanates and we’d probably fight back. So they made a protectorate deal. When the Italians got to the Southies though you guys were naked bush people and they colonized the hell out of y’all . The Italians tried to colonize MJs too but they realized they also had sultanates and structure so the MJs were able to sign protectorate treaties

You just repeated what I said. We signed a deal . In the deal it said we won’t lay down like the hawiyes and southern Somalis we will continue to rule ourselves, and you can’t f*ck our women or we’ll go to war.

The British and the Italians recognized Sultanates and that these people had structure in their lives and they might be able to mount a resistance. So they found some skinnies further south that were naked and they decided to domesticate them.
