It is probably the most dense Somali city after Mogadishu. It is also Somalia's newest major city. My hometown of Burtinle was larger than Bosaso in 1991, and today Bosaso has a population of 400,000. Unbelievable growth in 30 years.

This is why I always say that if I had Puntland's budget I wouldn't spend any of it outside Bosaso. The rest of Puntland simply does not have the potential for growth Bosaso naturally has. The problem is that every clan wants to have its village developed. Even people from Bosaso like @FBIsomalia get upset when I say all the money should be spent there.
