Borana garre relationship

They can't be fully somali tho. Just check their DNA or even their faces. Autosomal dna matters more than Y DNA.

I'd bet they're predominantly borana

They have Borana admixture like many Somali outliers in NDF but they’re predominantly Somali.

They're heavily admixed with non Somalis and most don't speak the language. Claiming they're fully somali is nonsense.

All Somalis who live in the periphery of Somaliweyn are admixed with neighboring groups wether Djibouti, NFD, South Somalia or Kilil 5.

Only Somalis in the north and northeast of the country are “pure”.

I have never seen the result of a Kenya Garre, but the Garre in Ethiopia and Somalia are predominantly Somali (non-Oromo).

Most likely the ones in Kenya are as well.

Many Hawiyes in the Central (especially) and even South-Central area are as well. Most Marehans in Gedo as well. In the South of Somalia proper only the Rahanweyn clan seems to have Oromo admixture.

Any actual genetic evidence for that last statement?

He's right, I'm Gugundhabe Jijeele and I posted my genetic breakdown on here. I've got Ethiopian/Eritrean admixture, doesn't say what kind though so I can say if it's Oromo or not. But my people do reside in central and south central Somalia.

Was talking about the Rahanuin part

Some 23andMe results I have seen, generally they have the highest Ethiopian scores in Somalia proper. Don't know why.

Is it possible that members of clans that are heavily present in Ethiopia will have higher Ethio/Eri score?

Just a thought.

It depends on which part of K5 though, some of those around Doollo are pretty much the same as Mudug Somalis.

It increases more along the Oromia border and goes somewhat towards Somalia in the Southeast K5 area.
