What's the big deal?
Somali is a cushitic language, it still shares SOMETHING with the semitic languages like certain root words.
E.g - Ab (semitic) - father
Aabo(cushitic) - father
Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying Cushitic languages are the brother of semitic languages, but as a branch within the same family a comparison is fair.

When compared to the other languages on there, it's a shame Af-Somali doesn't have a script of it's own. Somali Latin script looks really unoriginal.

Yeah true, we relied on the arabic scripts, but stupid colonisation got us into Latin scripts

What's wrong? We speak a Cushitic language with hints of Semitic language in it, you rather Somali be mentioned with the Bantu languages?
Our language is Afro-Asiatic, Meaning we follow in the same lineage with the other mentioned language historically.

Historically means biblically. I am right, though.
