Black women aren't being represented enough, they haven't fit the minimum "not racist" quota of 10 black women per sceneI thought they were mad because she got cast as a light skin Black girl, but it clearly states 'interracial' couple. Why are they mad?

'You're not going to erase black women in a movement that wouldn't exist without them so you can PROJECT your interracial relationship.'
pretty true honestly see no lie in this

It's not about Interracial couples, You can look at the cast list if you wantIs it specifically about the movement or is it centered around the couple? If there are no other prominent Black women and it's the former then I agree, that's next level fuckery. If not though, they need to sit down.

They're basically erasing the history of black women to cater to a white/non black audience
Let's be honest no one would complain if there were more black female actors in the series
Actually the scenario is not that far fetched .in the 70-90s,there was an alliance of Asians ,white MArxists and African Caribbean folksThe whole plot doesn't make any sense. A militant timo jileec woman in the 1970s is fighting for black rights and taking on the police??? Am i suppose to believe that. Indian women are so docile if they step outside they get a face full of acid. Lets be honest the only thing an Indian woman was doing in the 1970s was making chapatis.

taking on the police ,the national front and other racist groups . The racists did not differentiate between blacks and Asians ,therefore such alliances were needed and convenient to some extent . Black was a much more loose term in those days than it is now .As for the black fellow having an non-black girlfriend, that doesn't really happen ,does it ,in this land where you literally see a mixed-raced person every minute ?
It is a film, though ,not a bloody biopic of Michael Jackson .The black lives matter needs to relax their aFro combs on this one . A militant kneegrow having an Asian girlfriend is not anymore far fetched than him a black east African girl in the 70s..I for one Will be watching this and supporting the long history of brothers and Asian sisters in the British islands .There was an Asian and black alliance in 1960/70s Britain. However I very much doubt there were Asian woman rambos taking on the MET police and issuing orders. Asian woman back then couldn't even speak English, like is said all they did was make roti and chapatis.
Asian men and black people having a alliance I can understand. Asian xena warrior princess I dont believe.
Lol, not just that but...the only black woman that they cast (a role as a police officer, I believe)...they made her a traitor to the Civil Rights movement [which is far from the truth]. Also, the black female character doesn't get much screen time beyond that.A show about black civil rights, with a South Asian female lead who's the love interest of the black lead.
I can see why they're angry.
