Black identity stolen 😮😮😦

Black Americans are now fighting against the African for taking the black identity for themselves. For instance when a west African come to America they don't tell people they are Nigerian West African but state they are black Americans. There was arguments African African have been make for them to receive reparations because they are black. Now Black Americans are angry, but they are too stupid to understand they created this mess

I remember a Nigerian girl in my school who I didn't like telling me she's Black so as any American I thought she meant she was a foundational black American, I was confused because she didn't look like an FBA but I kinda shrugged it off than I found out her last name and I said "You're Nigerian?" And she said yes and I told her but you previously told me you're black and she got angry with me telling me "I am Black, we are more black than African Americans"... I had to educate her that she can't call herself that or people would assume she means she's a Black American descendants of American slaves and she should just refer to herself as Nigerian American she was fuming and started giving me attitude. Smh. I'm glad FBAs are waking up and pushing back these West Africans and Carribbeans who are stealing their identity.

She needs to know her place and accept where she’s from. But it’s not a big deal in the end of the day. If she calls herself “black” then she is. The U.S census calls anyone black that are from Africa. So she is black in the eyes of the law but she shouldn’t kid herself and take AA’s (FBA history and culture) by claiming. Thats cultural appropriation.

yes, the Black Americans identity should be for only African that have went through the triangle trade. These west and Central and east Bantu African hate there own self to the point they identify as Black Americans. It's literally the most ahkus form of self hate I've seen. I've even seen Bantu identifying as FBA recently

I think most Nigerians claim their heritage is just more convenient for them to claim black Because of how universal it is.

I'm not a person how talk about black Americans that much, but I advocate that they are there own people and African have been abusing they identity for a long time now and it's becoming a problem. I would advocate for any Black person how has ancestoral ties to America for 300 years to close off the black identity from civil rights and so forth.

It’s wrong for her to claim FBA because that’s the code for people that are from the first black people to come to America. She is black in the eye of the law but she isn’t FBA.

Why are so willing to infringe on people identity? if mass group of people state don't use our identity because it's ruining our character why are you not listening to these people? I've seen Bantu African become doctor and state there are Nigerian doctors, but when they are Nigerian/ Bantu African in xabis they claim black / FBA identity and not Nigerian. Why are happy dismissing people identity when it suits you ?

They get on our case for saying "we're not black" but isn't larping after someone else's identity even worse? They're claiming all the hardships and history of FBAs. I'd be annoyed if I were an FBA. Not getting to have your own identity after all that effort and fighting for your rights just be frustrating

Because it’s universal? Same with white identity. You’ll see Spanish, Italian claim white. Hell even Arab Christians. If you look back white was originally meant for people that are from the white Anglo Christian background.

Great example sxb, this whole thread is just about safe guarding identity iyo not letting people take your ancestoral identity from. All Africa people should identify with their country or ethnic groups. For instance I would state I'm Somali or at most I'm Cushitic

I just dont like identity infringement in identity all forms especially when it comes to us. I really don't like this kumbaya of we all black which erase ethnic identity. Buts it's great the black American have formed there own ethnic identity of FBA
