These people are all boring worshiping and wanting the jannah hoories that's all ;)
It should be self-evident to the cute little black girl in the video. She's super nice about it.
It actually says alot about such folks. Be one thing. Don't be a mother theresa to your parents and relatives and a kardashian to your friends. Such people have low weak personalities. Easily influenced in life and no moral backbone. Snakes in the grass i call them. Like many here on SS and outside They deserve no respect.
It's called keeping up with the Joneses: Somali edition. You put your best facade forward and you hide your sins. We're very good at hiding our misdeeds. In fact, it's encouraged by both deen and daqan.

Haha go ahead if they told their parents would they still be accepted as their child ? f*ck off with your high and mighty attitude, many are simply scared that's the relationship muslims have with their parents, it's all fear rather than love and willingness to share all your life with, many of these young girls and boys are simply trapped due to their parents tyrannical upbringing. Such tight upbringing would make anyone rebel am I wrong in making such a stark interpretation of a typical Islamic household ?

I respect a person that really knows who they are and aren't hypocrites that act brand new in front of certain folks.

If your a alcoholic drinking fornicator and for some reason you're proud of it, go right ahead but don't be a faker when you're in front of religious conservatives. If you're a pious upright God fearing religious conservative and are proud, go right ahead but don't compromise your deen to "fit in" with your peers or whoever.

Moral of the story: At the end of the day people will judge you regardless of your actions but nobody likes a hypocrite(fakeperson).
Why can't people be accepted for who they are, why do communities isolate those who think differently to them ? Or act differently ? I don't see this in Western households ?? Where parents kick their children out simply for having a boyfriend or drinking etc. If you come to the west accept your children to be more liberal than you lol. As a parent I will not ever disown my children for such petty matters.

Anyone rebel? speak for yourself. Alhamdulliah i have been raised by a single mom. My dad passed away when i was 14. I had crazy friends over the years. Numerous times to get into bad habits and sins. But i didnt veer off a cliff. I didnt rebel. Because i knew how to have fun and enjoy myself without turning into a nutjob. It's called having a healthy respect for yourself.

and what relationship are you talking about? what do you know about your parents? you think you love them? maybe. but you certainly do not respect them That's what so fascinating about human psychology. Alot of folks think they respect their parents. But they really don't Otherwise they wouldnt be doing the stuff they do from daddy's prying eyes like drinking wine. That's the difference between me and you. I respect my mom. I know what she expects of me. There is nothing i will do in private that i won't do in public in front of her.

You and the rest of the crew though can carry out living the double lives you're having. In a way it's a fitting humiliation from illahi who sees everything.

I'm guessing your asking your questions regarding Somali households? Putting your emotions aside, it's pretty obvious if you'd look thru your parents perspective coming from a religious background. They want whats best for you in this world and the next so them trying to protect you from the godlessness of Western society is commendable if you ask me. I agree our parents should understand that we're living in a different time and should raise us accordingly to it. But no matter whats going on, going against the Islamic teachings of our Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) will always be despised by our Somali community and parents, because most of us are Muslims.

Btw, Kudos to you for not disowning your child but I would not call them petty matters. The Deen is not petty by any means and by the way you're responding clearly shows your contempt for it. I hope Allah guides you on the right path abayo, good luck with your future endeavors.

God cannot ever shatter the bond between me and my child regardless of what he or she is doing, once their are adults they are free to live the lives they want. Perhaps I'm to liberal but ey, with each passing generation a shift in cultural practices occurs. Especially those living in the west.

This site is sexist I did a thread about this girl and I was bashed by the xalimos but when a girl does it it's ok. Bunch of sexists in here :birdman:

Let's be honest, there's plenty of ppl who can't be 'themselves'. They're cornered into being 'hypocrites'. The lifestyle they're putting on for everyone one else is not true to them. And in other cases, they aren't radically different ppl bc they do these things. Some of them are just going through a phase or its a part of growing up for them.

Like if you go to a different city on a trip and whoosh the hijab comes off and then when you come back it's on again, best believe that person didn't want to go through the trouble of doing that within the community or with someone in their family, bc they're clearly not inclined to wear it organically when it's completely up to them. Suddenly they're a 'hypocrite'. It's that easy to become one.

Exactly, some ppl aren't about that religious life style lol it's hard for some ppl to hear

Obviously they aren't going to act like that infront of your parents. Being yourself can have dire consequences in some instances

Parents should stop expecting their child to be saints when they themselves may have been the wild child when they were young. I think parents are hypocrites for being so damn strict when they themselves dated perhaps engaged in drinking etc. At the time when Somalia was secular. Don't expect your child to grow a Virgin Mary in a city where parties and sex is flaunted everywhere you go. Lol

"God cannot" kulaha lol

Of course everyone is responsible for their own life and they can do as they please. But our hooyas and abos want whats best for us in the Dunya and Akhira! It goes beyond this world but I'm guessing your liberal views prevent you from seeing that.

I personally grew up in Canada and the U.S. and I cannot wait to move back home. The western society is too godless for me walahi I wanna hear the call to prayer outside everyday not just from my phone lol
