But, there are many young people that sympathies and empathise based on the that belief of "Greater Somalia ".However, since I believe that SL should be recognised and made distinction between SL and Somalia, usually some Somalis would be upset. Many SL diasporas don't see Somalia as their country of origin nor do I.

He was born in Lughaya, British somaliland and was the first president of Djibouti. If what you mean by lander is him being born in british somaliland then yes but if what you mean by lander is him being from the self declared republic of somaliland then no. I don't believe he identified as a lander before his death but rather as a Djiboutian.
