You know while i was reading this article it occurred to me that this boom in obsidian usage and this long distance trade is actually the birth of a somali trade network as well as the earliest signs of somali civilization.
What made me realize that this trade was being done by proto somalis is that in this red sea coastal region the only place with abundant wood to actually create the ships necessary for seafaring is actually the somali coast.
