Somalia could significantly reduce its reliance on food imports by investing in agriculture and imporving security in southern Somalia. There is multiple extortion checkpoints (isbaaros) that drive up the price of food in Somalia. Our breadbasket region is being extorted by AS and bandits.

Matter of fact, black Africa as a whole are not investing properly in to their agriculture. No modern equipment is used by most, no proper research into the soil type of the field, no right irrigation. Basically Africa farms the same way it has for generations, just some crops have changed.

Africa definitely can feed itself, it has the resources for it.
