They started in July, Airport design is 90% finished, Geotechnical investigation are 80% finished, they're now clearing up the land to build the runway and the road that will connect the airport to the city, they said the airport will be opened in 2027
We also got new pictures of the airport with the terminal and cargo terminal
Now this picture is especially interesting to me cause I dont think they chose the airlines at random, you can see how they added Somali Airlines indicating that they might be serious about reviving it, but also other international airlines that fly or could fly to Somalia, I remember reading that the minister of civil aviation got multiple requests by international airlines to start flying to xamar but couldn't accept due to the congestion and size of Aden cadde, British Airways and American Airlines make sense because there's lots of Somalis in UK and Minnesota, Qatar and Turkish Airlines already fly to Xamar as well but idk about virgin atlantic
No news for the new sea-port but we got the first rendering of the special economic zone
