The samurai period in Japan and Imperial Japan during WW2.
The Korean Goryeo and Joseon empires and the division of Korea.

I have to agree with @government as I too picked The Mughal Empire.

A Muslim Turkic/Mongol dynasty with heavy Persian (cultural) influence plus the riches of India produced one of the most wealthiest, centralised, and powerful states of the early-modern age.

Most of Pakistani/Hindustani culture comes from this period. If it wasn't for the Mughals, Indians would still be naked today. Very interesting period.

My personal favourite is classical Athens and ancient Mesopotamia, particularly Sumer.
