Being Ahlus Sunnah in Manners and Character

Being Ahlus Sunnah in Manners and Character

By Bassam Zawadi

Unfortunately, when speaking about Ahlus Sunnah, many people only speak about it from the dimension of Aqeedah.

Ibn Taymiyyah in his Al-Aqeedah al-Waasitiyyah states that along with having valid foundations in Aqeedah in place, one from Ahlus Sunnah must also have great character, be dutiful to his parents, not be arrogant, be good to the orphans and people in need, be good to one's neighbors, avoid oppressing others, etc.

However, today, we see many people who claim the title of Ahlus Sunnah for themselves, and we see nothing but awful character emanating from them. Shame, they seem to be "Ahlul Bid'ah in character," I suppose?
