Pro

1) we are much more quiet on the internet.

2) less likely to find Somalis who lose their culture to African American culture or arab culture (although you will find this in smaller %)

3) more politically correct. You don’t hear or see somali Australians say outrageous, controversial statements in public.

4) we don’t go online and make videos about qabil

Cons

1) antisocial to an extent (barely see somali girls and boys interacting).

2) not a very large community therefore more community gossip (oops)

3) less interaction with other western Somalis (ie. European/American/Canadian diaspora.

Note:

These are to an extent largely generalising. We do have a group (albeit smaller size) of Somalis who have the exact same degenerate behaviour of western Somalis involved in gang culture and other behaviour. However we are altogether a quieter diaspora and more obviously, a lot more boring. 😒

Well Australian Somali Diaspora population is less than 1%, so of course your noise is slightly more than zero

Wow sxb we are so similar.
I believe that Australian Geeljires in the faraway ocean are in fact our twins.

Somalis in South Africa.

We don't circulate around the internet like the mainstream Somalis and if we do we are very discreet. And we keep our private lives to ourselves. We keep our conversation with other Somalis to a minimum it is only the relatives residing abroad that we keep close contact with.

As for the fobs since they outnumber us they are cursed indefinitely
the likes of them being influenced by the rantings of Dahir Calasow and Dabcasar and we even have our own circus clown obsessed with FKD. And some weird characters but even they are not extreme as those Somalis outside Africa or back home.
It's just happens to be the old, miserable who are occupied with false rumours and are susceptible to be indulged in these illogical fairytale dramas, the tea drinking people that display symptoms of narrow mindedness and those with a qabiilist mindset who have nothing better to do. And guess what these peculiar human beings are not exclusive to one place it's strife within Somaliweyn.

As far for the silent youth it's rare to hear or see them engage in outrageous, controversial activities in the wider public.
Remember it's life, work , studies that
overwhelm us and we don't waste our time with nonsense.

Let's talk about the cons.

We are somewhat in that category, being asocial with other Somalis.
It depends on the location since we live in a big country and to interact with one proves to be difficult since
we reside in these vast cities and townships, throughout the country so yes as we could be categorised as in that predicament. Unless you drive hundreds or thousands kilometres to your destination
but that is changing, now for the better.
We have an organised community here in the city and the youth have their own center.
They come and gather for sports, table pool, extracurricular activities such as the gym and social gatherings. And yes it's easier to interact as a Somali boy with a Somali girl.
Back in the days it was so difficult to get a Xaliimos number lol.

In terms of population, both documented and undocumented we have a sizeable community but we are not that large in comparison to the outside Somalis. Hence we are unknown to them also what contributes to being under the radar is that the vast may have a substantially limited their social media presence. Like I said people keep their shit private.

As I mentioned earlier unless it's a relative, a close friend or a business associate in the diaspora then these interactions are possible and are as much frequent.
Specifically business related invoices in the far East.
So yes interactions with Western Somalis are severely limited.

Do we have degenerates , I'm not going to answer that.
But I'd tell you this there are some fobs who lived here for one or two years
easily mesmerized with the mirage of tall skylines and the deceptive glitz and glamour, people who think they are Reer magaal once they touchdown and I guess that's an epidemic among all fobs regardless where theyive worldwide.
Yep some fobs who decided it was enough to stay here repatriated to their hometowns and emanated what they saw from TV and from the streets but they are smaller in numbers.
Used to cringe at their poor fashion sense lol.

You all should leave South Africa since is crystal clear they are anti somali, literally a day doesn't go by that we hear stories of somali business owners being burnt alive, so why continue living in a hell hole that isn't safe for any human being let alone Somalis? even the white population are all leaving for the UK and Australia due to the extreme dangers in South Africa.
