U speak as if AS control large swathes of lands in Gedo like they do in Galmudug. They are found in isolated towns and surrounding countryside between major towns and city centers and the land there its pretty safe compared to HAG lands. There should be zero tolerance for Ethiopian presence in the country. They have been around for over 20 years and have done virtually nothing to help the security situation and decrease terrorism. In fact, their presence causes instability as Al-Shabab justifies recruitment and frames their war against what they percieve to be christian invaders. The average Somali in the south dislikes Ethiopian soldiers but their leaders love them and keep them around for power.

I rather no foreign troops whatsoever but Egyptians would be a massive improvement over Ethiopians who just squat in their bases and abuse locals.

The SNA had multiple clans before and it broke down along clans lines. The same will happen again and the SNA will fight itself. The war won't end if everyone is equally armed. Probably better for one group to have the arms and the others to just submit to their rule.
