Beau Travail (1999)

French film shot in Djibouti with stunning cinematography that captures the unique landscape and atmosphere of Djibouti.
But unforutantely the Somali Character's screen time have been aggrestivley cut short, in my eyes, theyhave been inadequately limited to maintain the central narrative which was about ww2 soldiers or some boring crap. She, the director, claire Denis, used Djibouti and its people, as a set piece, rather than a missed oppurtunity for a central narrative, with her blown out budget.
i hate this film and like it at the same time.

im salty bc this is the highest budget production to ever grace the land of somali soil. although this film is critically acclaimed, every somali unsuprisingly hates it bc its disappointing and dertacts from the overall enjoyment of the film.
