Good explanation by Garowe Online. Shabaab put baydhabo under siege after KG stopped teachers being in called by Shabaab.

I believe they ‘educate them’ and also take significant taxes on all teachers. There was an understanding between Shabaab and KG for a long time but seems like KG have changed policy therefore resulting in Shabaab closing off all routes into Baydhabo

I find it hard to understand how KG gov’t up until now have failed to liberate at least Bakool and parts of Bay. To make sure that Baydhabo is not land-locked in a sea of AS controlled territory.

They could’ve utilized the Ethiopians (& their capabilities) since they don’t want AS at its doorstep and would want to have a large buffer zone.

I can’t see this extortion attempt by AS ending without making a deal with them, possibly some concession

The Eelays must’ve terrorized people, given how there seem to be some consensus on SSpot that they are behind most troubles in south Somalia, whether it’s AS or not

You share a state with them, which will leave you with the duty of rehabilitating them. It won’t be easy dealing with the backbone of AS

What part of 80% of Shabaab footsoldiers is RX do you not get! How do you fight yourself, that is the question.

Only way KG is liberated is Ethiopian + SNA muscle

People accuse me of hating specific clans but I literally watched a video of the Baxdo attack where 80 Shabaab were smoked and all the Shabaab prisoners after the attack were RX, Duduble, Murusade, Gaaljecel

Xudur & Waajid have been under siege for 5 to 7 years now. The situation in Bakool is much much worse than Baay.
